それでもノルウェー人にだって悩みはあります、愚痴りたくもなります。
9月の滞在中、日々の悩みや迷いを聞く機会はありました。デリケートな問題ですし、ノルウェー語でどう答えればいいのかこちらも「Hmmmm」と答えに窮しました。
そんな時、よく耳にしたこのフレーズ。
Men men
menは「しかし」を意味する単語です。men menは「しかし、しかし」が直訳になりますね。発音は「メンメン」でしょうか。パンダの名前には選ばれない語感です。
悩みや愚痴を吐露した本人が「もうこれ以上、こぼしてもしょうがないわね」との思いとともに、men menと使っている印象を受けました。
悩みはある？
思えば私もメールで使っていました。近況報告などで「骨折した、猫がなついてくれない、猫がベッドにおしっこをした」などひとしきり愚痴ってから、”men men”と区切りをつける意味合いで書いてましたね。日本語だと「もとい」が近いでしょうか？

などの繰り返しフレーズとともに、men menも語彙に加えちゃいましょう。
